My favorite places to go from the hill country to downtown Austin.
It’s after Christmas and before summer vacation. Sure there’s Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl, but what are we going to do for fun in the rest of February? Maybe you and your partner are deciding to go on a trip and do something fabulous. That’s why I want to tell you about some of my favorite places:
- The Pearl: Hotel Emma. If you’re starting in San Antonio and want the ultimate experience, this is the place to go. The service is great, the food is amazing, and the riverwalk has great nightlife. The hiatus spa is also close by, so you can have a luscious, pampering weekend. There is so much to offer around here.
- La Cantera Resort. Maybe you want to go out to the hill country. Here you have Georgia’s Keep, one of the most iconic cocktail bars, and a ton of other high-end restaurants. You have great shopping opportunities and a fabulous spa nearby.

- Hoffman House. You might be noticing a pattern in my favorite places, and the Hoffman House in Fredericksburg does not disappoint. It’s more rustic and quiet than downtown San Antonio, but it is still a pampering get-away right next to all the wineries and distilleries on the 290 corridor.
- The Archer Hotel in Austin. The Viva Day Spa is unbelievable. It’s not often that you find a chartreuse cocktail, but they serve an amazing one, The Green River, at the Archer Bar. I guarantee you’ll love it. There’s a North Italia nearby as well.
