A great example of the modern farmhouse style and why it’s so gorgeous.
What’s a modern farmhouse? I get asked this question a lot, so today I want to show you a great example of a modern farmhouse.
One of the things I love about this home is its outdoor spaces. They’re not what you would typically associate with farmhouses, but they’re easy to enjoy given the Texas heat. The pool in this home has a very clean, modern aesthetic. It’s functional yet gorgeous, and that’s one of the trademarks of the modern farmhouse. The porch also has a clean pallet with wood detail, white stucco, and an organic flare.
Lots of people think this style is cold and contemporary, but while it is clean, it also has some organic touches. On the inside, the greys are cool, but they add a touch of warmth. There’s also a simple white backsplash in the kitchen, which is a staple of the modern farmhouse style. Think simple, modern, fresh, and warm.
"When you think modern farmhouse, think simple, modern, fresh, and warm."
The home also uses concrete, stone, and lentils. There’s a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with a simple mantle. Simple doesn’t mean boring; it means artistic and exciting.
This old-school farmhouse master bedroom is anything but plain. It has a sliding barn door leading into the bathroom because who doesn’t love barn doors. The bathroom has an old-style tile for the floor, a leather granite countertop, and a killer tub. The simplicity of the dark window and rain glass is amazing.
